Orthopedic implants have become essential tools in the industrialized nations to minimize pain and restore motion to hundreds of thousands of people every year. However, within many countries the anatomic hip variations do not follow standard Caucasian sizing. The implant sizes need to be smaller to fit properly.
Our mission is to design and improve orthopedic implants so they address anatomic variations amongst different populations around the world. Our initial research uncovered that Western total hips are often too large for many elderly non-Caucasian people. We partnered with the Mayo Clinic and Dr. Bernard Morrey to help us develop a Total Hip System that was sized correctly, anatomically accurate, minimized bone removal and incorporated clinically proven total hip designs. The FitRite™* Total Hip System is infinal development and obtaining regulatory approval in several key markets.
Other opportunities have been identified and research is ongoing.
